8:00 am – Spoken Service (Rite 2 in the Book of Common Prayer). The Episcopal Church has a tradition of having an early morning worship service that is quieter, prayerful, and more contemplative.
10:00 am – Sunday School for children. The children meet upstairs in our parish hall for Sunday School with Miss Sue, Miss Sylvia and Miss Katie. Their lesson plan is often based upon the same Scripture readings from the “grown up” service. Around 11 AM the children join the grown ups in the sanctuary for holy communion.
10:15 am – Family Service (Rite 2). Our primary hymnal is Lift Every Voice and Sing, the African-American Hymnal of the Episcopal Church. We have an area for families with young children to sit. Our sanctuary can hold up to 75 persons, so it is a warm, intimate setting where we weekly are invited to share our prayer requests with one another during the service and often hug for the passing of the peace. Afterwards all are invited to stay for coffee and (often) food in our Parish Hall.
6:00 pm – Evening Prayer with Scripture Study (starting January 24). Contact Fr. Mark for more information.
Our parking lot is accessed via Wheeler alley.
